It's not essential that you bring all these documents to your first meeting, but this is one way to avoid misunderstandings and save time and money. This is a checklist to refresh your memory about documents that may be relevant to the meeting. If you can't locate any or all of them, please don't cancel or reschedule your appointment, Mr. Jackson will let you know which documents are necessary after the first meeting. Copies of your current or prior wills or trusts (if any) A financial statement, such as: a copy of your most recent loan application, copies of current bank and investment account statements or a printout from a computerized finance program Employee Benefits ( Bring any booklets or summary describing your benefits from your employer... include retirement benefits and life insurance) Retirement Benefits (The current value of each retirement account) Life Insurance information ( policy, current billing statement or application and a copy of your beneficiary designation) Shares information (Copies of your shareholder's agreement, repurchase agreement, or buy-sell agreement... if you own stock in a closely-held corporation, such as a family business.) A Family Tree (An outline showing your parents, your siblings, your children and grandchildren) |
